Biography
Associate Broker/Owner Stefan J. Scholl grew up in Petoskey, Michigan,
attending St. Francis Xavier Grade School and graduating from Petoskey
High School (Centennial Class of '85). He went on to obtain his
bachelor's degree in International Relations from The Honors College
and James Madison College at Michigan State University (1989).
Scholl received his law degree in 1992 from the University of
Michigan, one of the nation's preeminent law schools.
At the University of
Michigan Law School, Scholl was a participant in the Henry M. Campbell
Moot Court Competition, and was awarded the prestigious S.
Anthony Benton Best Brief Award by a panel of distinguished judges,
including United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
From 1992-1994, Scholl
practiced law with Beier Howlett, P.C., a Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
law firm. In 1994, Scholl returned to his hometown of Petoskey
and established his own law practice. Scholl is a member of the
Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and has
practiced real estate law extensively. Scholl has represented
numerous individuals, partnerships, trusts, estates, corporations,
limited liability companies, schools, municipalities and other
governmental bodies in connection with a variety of real estate
matters including purchase and sale transactions, planning and zoning,
landlord/tenant law, condominium law and development, and construction
law and litigation.
Scholl formed Buyer's
Broker of Northern Michigan, LLC and obtained his Michigan Real Estate
Broker's license in 2001. He is a member of the National
Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA), the Real Estate Buyer
Agency Council (REBAC), the National Association of Realtors, Michigan
Association of Realtors, Emmet Association of Realtors, and the
Northern Michigan Multiple Listing Service. Scholl has obtained
the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, and is an e-Pro
certified internet professional, a certification which is held by less
than one (1%) percent of all realtors nationwide. Scholl
specializes in buyer representation and relocation services.
He is married to a
lovely and talented artist, Kim, and has two adorable children,
Max and Mamie. In
addition to spending time with his family, Scholl enjoys fly fishing,
bird hunting, boating and spending time at the beach in the
summertime, and playing ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding and
snowmobiling in the wintertime. Zeke Scholl, a yellow labrador
retriever, is the office
mascot.
